Bless Back Project

So this morning we went to church and we have started a new sermon series intitled "The Real F Word", over forgivness.. You can check out more information on it at http://www.experiencelifenow.com/ . Anyways, this morning we also did the Bless Back project. Wow, we are so glad that we are part of a church like this. Instead of passing the offering plate and putting money in, they passed the offering plate, and inside were envelopes and we were told to take one if we wanted to participate, and use whatever amount was inside (5, 10, 20, 50, 100, or 250) and use it all to bless one person or several people. This was outstanding because I have NEVER heard of a church doing this. So out of me and John's envelope we got $25, and we were so excited about this project that we drove around thinking of who, and how we could bless someone. The person that came to our mind just tugged on me and John's heart strings. When we got to him John asked him if he needed anything and humbly he answered, just a bottle of water... and we drove and got him some water. We go back and hand him the rest of the money, and John prayed with this man on the corner of 66th and University. It was so humbling, and it was so AMAZING to see my husband praying over and for a complete stanger simply because the Lord told us to do so. This man sold everything he owned, and put his complete trust in God to provide all he needed, and it's outstanding to see, just in the short amount of time, the people that stopped by just to tell him "God bless you". When we drove off, he couldn't help himself but jump up and down and praise the Lord, and he waved at us, and pointed to heaven! You can find more about this man here

This was the most amazing experience me and John have to date, spiritually speaking. It convicted us of just how petty we are with money. It doesn't matter what we make, because in return ALL the money we have, or don't have is God's. And if he wanted, he could take it all awaay in a heart beat. This convicted us because it doesn't matter to God what car we drive, what TV we own, what kind of lifestyle we live, all that matters is that we are doing it for the Glory of him. This experience just sent chills up and down my spine and reminded me that I even take forgranted all the money God has given us, all the clothes, food, shelter. I simply don't say thank you enough! John has had the biggest smile on his face, and it's also amazing to see the Joy of the Lord in your husband's eyes! I don't think I have ever cried over something like this, and I couldn't help myself. There are really no words that can explain what me and John have learned from this. I know not everyone that reads this will think the way we do, and some of you might thank we were foolish to give our money away not knowing how or what it was going to be used on, but really, it isn't ours anyways. Experience Life handed out $10,000 this weekend, just for people to hand away and bless others with. This is an amazing church, and if you don't have a church home I really encourage you to check it out! This has been the most revolutionary experience ever, and I will never be the same!!

So I encourage you to ask God today, how much you have to bless someone with, and then who you can bless with it! Give it to them, thank the Lord!!

"Better to give, than to recieve" as the bible says!!!

Hey!!! It is so good to hear from you & to find your blog. Lex did tell me how he ran into you that day in the ER. I can't believe you had to go to the ER so soon with little Joshua. I bet that was scary. Thank you for your encouragement. I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling with anxiety. Why is it so hard for us just to trust the Lord when we know that He'll always be there for us & give us exactly what we need!! Isn't it funny how we forget that?

I'm so excited to get to catch up on what has been going on in y'alls life! What are you in school for?
